Tea Parties

As I mentioned in my last post, I try to focus a lot of my activities to take place on the outdoor porch. So naturally when my mom asked me to host the family over for an end of summer tea party, I chose the porch as the location. As you can see by the photos below, this tea party was hosted pre-chair swing and dying mums.

To prepare for the tea party, I pulled my two new living room chairs out to the porch for additional seating, rolled my coffee table out for a small table, and hung a curtain for additional privacy and whimsy.

I set the table with a pitcher filled with colorful daisies next to the teapot for the centerpiece. I paired fun cocktail glasses with teacups. Since I was hosting 2 adults and 2 children, I made juice spritzer (juice + sparkling water)¬†for the cocktail glasses because the day was a little hot for tea and the girls don’t particularly enjoy tea. I made the right choice because between the 5 of us we drank the whole pitcher!!

I also prepared pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and oreo truffles to enjoy with our tea. The tea party was such a hit between us that we’ve decided to have one in the fall as well!
